    I usually just use a blanket across the bottom. There could be chemicals, but they are usually well-rinsed out. Just make sure to rinse out the tub thoroughly after cleaning it. Also, watch the gerbils while they are in it to make sure they don’t go around licking it, but I have never had any problems so I wouldn’t worry too much.

    Hi I have 2 gerbils and I want to put them in the tub and play with them, but my friend told me that I shouldn’t do that because there is a lot of chemicals in the tub and the gerbils can get sick and die. What do you think I should do? I was thinking maybe I should put a blanket over the tub so that they wouldn’t eat anything, but I’m not sure? What do you think?
