@camillalpz Really opinions very between owners. Ours to just fine with chinchilla dust and personally I think people go a little too far with what they think is best for their animals and some stuff that works for some people does not work for others. I am sure they experience plenty of dust in the wild.

Yea I know there are many people who happen to use the dust.But many people just use different types because of the system of a little gerbil.But yes it is possible that they might encounter dust in the wild.I tried out the dust with my gerbil but she just kicks it so I’m going to try the powder and see if anything different happens.

@camillalpz Well ours like it. If we had a problem we would definitely change to a different type, but our gerbils go wild over the dust so we use dust.

I use chinchilla dust too and its what all the pet shops here in the UK tell us to use. The only problem is, mine go to the toilet in the dust.. so then wont bathe in it. any ideas on how I can stop that?

@renrutism We only allow them once every two days and only under supervision. They sometimes soil it so we replace it when necessary. Ours bathe immediately when they see the dust because they know it will only be there a short time.

Do they get sand off there sawdust? I haven’t been able to find any Chinchilla Dust anywhere in Pets at home nearby, but they always burrow in the sawdust alot, its high up too, but a friend said that they might get dust from the sawdust?
